Bath Philharmonia has established itself as one of the leading professional ensembles in the South West of England, boasting some of the finest and most experienced orchestral players in Britain. The orchestra is involved in 25-30 performances annually throughout the region.
Bath Philharmonia actively promotes major orchestral performance with major international soloists in important venues in the area. Bath Philharmonia’s artistic team is headed by one of Britain’s leading young conductors Jason Thornton, alongside the distinguished musician Peter Donohoe as Principal Guest Conductor.
After Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra Bath Philharmonia is the largest professional organisation of its type in the cultural sector in the South West of England.

The ‘Jupiter’, arguably Mozart’s greatest symphonic creation, is presented alongside one of the most popular violin concertos. Max Bruch’s romantic concerto is played by one of Britain’s most stunning young violinists, Jennifer Pike (Times Young Artist of the Year 2007/8). Having performed together with the RPO in 2007 to rave reviews, Jason and Jennifer team up again in the finale of the Bath Summer Classics.
