Elegant and historic Bath is set amidst some of the most beautiful countryside in the West of England. The Highclere Holiday Apartments are on the edge of the golden hillside hamlet of Widcombe, largely rural in outlook, but so near the heart of the city.
Highclere enjoys commanding views across Bath. The ground, first and second floor lounges have panoramic views over the city with its Abbey, (floodlit at night), Roman Baths, River Avon and its bridges and the Kennet and Avon Canal. The trees of Smallcombe Valley present a delightful view from each of the bedrooms, with the idyllic scenes changing from season to season. Highclere is late Victorian, with many original features and has been sympathetically converted into four spacious self-contained apartments, which can accommodate two to four persons. WIFI broadband is fitted throughout the house.
The garden at Highclere is pleasant with a large patio, lawn and flower beds and garden furniture. It is safe for children, being totally enclosed. There is a rotary clothes-line. There is a parking area for a small car behind wrought iron gates at the front of the house. For a larger car a parking permit will be available for the zone 2 parking, in addition there are 4 hour bays in the tree lined road outside, for non residents parking.
Each close-carpeted attractively furnished apartment has one bedroom, lounge/dining area with a three piece suite and a bathroom and kitchen. Each has a colour television, DVD player, CD player, video recorder and videos, night storage heaters and electric fires, clock radio, radio, hair dryer, electric iron and ironing board. There are two electric heat pads in each apartment.
Electric showers, power points and shaver sockets are provided. The modern fitted kitchens have washing machines and tumble dryers or washer/dryers, refrigerators, and freezers or fridge/freezers, full size cookers, microwave ovens, toasters, kettles, cutlery, cooking utensils, porcelain china and Corning Ware.
Duvets and blankets are provided. Service, linen and towels are included in the tariff. Linen is changed weekly. There is a full-service payphone in the foyer from which local, regional and overseas calls may be made and received. Each apartment is separately metered for electricity. An approved smoke and fire alarm system is fitted and is maintained and certificated annually.
