Situated in the picturesque village of Winsley, Stillmeadow is 2 miles from the Saxon town of Bradford on Avon and 6 miles from the City of Bath World Heritage site. The accommodation is set in a semi-rural location and is accessed by a private drive offering three spacious, modern rooms with en-suite facilities and all other amenities expected of a 5 diamond guest house. The property is surrounded by an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with views over the Wiltshire countryside towards the distant hills of Westbury White Horse. It is a registered glow worm site and the grounds of Special scientific Interest. Badgers, deer, foxes, rabbits and many birds including Green Woodpeckers, owls and buzzard are often spotted as frequent visitors to the extensive tranquil gardens and the wildflower meadow. We have ample off-road parking for cars, a secure lock-up for bicycles. For stress-free travel from Stillmeadow, buses run from locations such as Bradford on Avon, Bath and Salisbury from the end of the drive every half an hour. Winsley has a local shop and Post Office with cash machine dispenser. For eating out it has a local pub: the Seven Stars, offering a comprehensive menu with daily special, bookings are recommended at weekends.

The historical market town of Bradford on Avon, known for its Saxon church, Tithe Barn, ancient bridge over the River Avon, weavers cottages, canals and locks, antiques, art, craft, gift, clothing and food shops open a wealth of opportunity for all interest. Bradford on Avon has many excellent pubs, wine bars, Thai, Indian and Italian restaurants, also charming tea rooms to indulge in.

For those who enjoy sporting activities there is boating/fishing, cycling, golf, horseriding, motor racing, running and walking. For the less active there are several National Trust properties within a close proximity, including Dyrham Park, The Courts Holt and Lacock Abbey, as well as the public houses and gardens of Westwood Manor, Bowood House and Longleat Safari Park.

Road Directions

From M4 jct 18 take A46 then A4 towards Bath. Once on the A4 turn left (towards A36) at the second major set of traffic lights. Go over bridge and past fire station; at the end of the road turn left onto A36 in the direction of Warminster. Follow this road for approx 4 miles; at set of traffic lights take the B3108 from the Viaduct Hotel on the A36 to Winsley village (2 miles). Pass through the old village and Stillmeadow is 300 yds on the right.
