Unlock the Secret World...The Kennet and Avon Canal is Bath’s forgotten gem. Built in the early 1800’s and tucked away beyond the Georgian facades of Beau Nash and Ralph Allen. Overshadowed by the engineering marvels of even earlier Roman craftsmen, the canal is the gateway to a secret world few visitors to Bath ever glimpse. A cruise on board a Bath Narrowboat is your key to unlock this secret world.

Road Directions

Leave the M4 motorway at junction 18 and follow the signs south to Bath on the A46. Turn onto the A4 at the large roundabout on the outskirts of Bath. Follow the sign towards the city centre. Turn left at the second set of traffic lights (ignoring the light controlled pedestrian crossings). The road will be signposted A4 Bristol. At the next set of traffic lights follow the road towards Bristol, do not turn left onto the A36 towards Warminster. At the next roundabout, next to a church turn left. You will then be on Bathwick Hill.

About 300 yards up the hill you will see “The Moorings” a new retirement home on your left and a row of shops on your right. Our entrance is alongside the front door to 'The Moorings'. To park, turn left into Sydney Wharf which is the first turning on the left as you come up the hill, there is a brown direction sign with ‘Bath Narrowboats’ and the symbol a narrowboat opposite the turn. Drive down Sydney Wharf for approx. 50 yards and the entrance to our car parking is through the arch on your right. Park in the spaces marked BW outside the gates, walk back onto Bathwick Hill and through the black gates alongside the front door of the ‘Moorings’ and onto the wharf.
