The Royal Photographic Society is to host a photographic exhibition by Don Tait FRPS. Don has spent many years seeking out and photographing wild orchids and the environments in which they grow, from a variety of locations including the Mediterranean. Through the images in this exhibition at Fenton House we can appreciate the wide variety and complex beauty of these plants, and the landscapes in which they flourish. The prints show close-up details and special features of the orchids.
Don has been an active and valuable member of The Royal Photographic Society for over 40 years and was awarded a Fellowship in 1989 for his photographs of European Orchids. He is a member of several Wild Life Trusts in southern Britain and he hopes that this exhibition will go some way to encouraging people – and through them, their children - to walk in the countryside and enjoy the rare beauties to be found so close to home. In this way our wild orchids may be better protected.
Admission is free to this exhibition.
